ABOUT OUR GUEST
Dr. Emily Maynard is a clinical psychologist in private practice in Santa Barbara, California. She previously worked in community substance abuse treatment and at Counseling and Psychological Services at University of California, Santa Barbara. She received her PhD from Fordham University in the Bronx, New York City, and completed her clinical training at Bellevue Hospital Center.
Her therapy practice specializes in working with individuals who have complicated relationships with their bodies, including working with eating disorders, substance use issues, trauma, medical illness and pain, and LGBTQ+ individuals, especially transgender individuals. She sees both adolescents and adults, and especially enjoys working with late adolescent and early adult patients.
In her free time, Dr. Maynard enjoys knitting and crochet, reading fiction, running by the beach, and spending time with her partner and kids.
